Texas Chain Saw Massacre Won’t Shut Down Like Friday The 13th, Dev Insists

Sumo Nottingham and Gun Media have provided reassurance to fans that their upcoming survival horror game, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, will not suffer the same fate as Friday the 13th: The Game. In an interview with PCGamesN, Gun Media’s creative director Ronnie Hobbs stated that the situation surrounding Friday the 13th was more complicated, whereas they are dealing directly with Kim Henkel, the sole owner of the Texas Chain Saw Massacre IP. Hobbs emphasized their close collaboration with Henkel from both creative and legal perspectives, ensuring a smooth process. He also mentioned that after the success of Friday the 13th: The Game, many people approached the studio to turn their IP into games, but the introduction to Henkel sparked a mutual interest, leading to the decision to develop The Texas Chain Saw Massacre as their next game. Although Friday the 13th: The Game is set to be delisted and shut down due to licensing issues, players can still enjoy it until December 31, 2024. To stay updated, check out our Texas Chain Saw Massacre review, where Mark Delaney praises the game for setting a new standard for multiplayer horror experiences.
