Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was named the second most popular CM in a recent survey conducted to check the popularity and acceptability of the country’s chief ministers. His Odisha counterpart and BJD chief Naveen Patnaik scored the first position to become the most popular leader.

According to the survey, Odisha’s Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik topped the list with a popularity rating of 52.7 per cent while BJP’s star leader and Uttar Pradesh’s Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath secured the second position with a 51.3 per cent rating.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, known for his fiery speeches and pro-Hindu stance, was the third most popular chief minister, as per the list. He garnered a stellar rating of 48.6 per cent.

The survey further concludes Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel is the fourth most popular state leader while Tripura CM Dr Manik Saha scored the fifth position in the ranking. Both leaders got 42.6 per cent and 41.4 per cent popularity ratings respectively.

One of the founding members of the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) party, Naveen Patnaik has been serving as the chief minister for 22 years.

A parliamentarian from Uttar Pradesh’s Gorakhpur and head priest at the Gorakhnath Math, Yogi Adityanath is the 22nd and longest-serving chief minister of Uttar Pradesh.

In the 2022 UP Assembly Elections, Adityantah created history by becoming the first-ever leader to win a second consecutive poll in the state and becoming the chief minister for the second time.

In March 2023, BJP’s Manik Saha, a dentist-turned-politician, steered the party to power in Tripura and took oath as the Chief Minister of the state for the second consecutive term.

Saha, who led the BJP to victory, is a dental surgeon who joined the BJP in 2016 after quitting Congress. He was made party chief of the state in 2020 and elected to Rajya Sabha in March 2022.
