Google is providing select One subscribers with an opportunity to receive a complimentary Chromecast with Google TV (4K) by upgrading to an annual 2TB cloud storage subscription.
Until July 13th, eligible individuals can upgrade to a Google One Premium 2TB plan with annual billing, priced at $139.99/year in Canada. Google will then send these upgraders a Chromecast with Google TV (4K) at no cost, covering the shipping expenses. In the terms and conditions, Google mentions that it will send instructions for redeeming the Chromecast one week after the upgrade.
The Chromecast has a retail value of $69.99. However, there is a limit of one per plan, and only the ‘Snow’ color variant is available.
Unfortunately, the offer does not seem to be available to new subscribers. It appears to be exclusive to existing subscribers on a lower-cost plan. For instance, I am subscribed to the ‘Basic’ 100GB plan for $27.99/year. Therefore, the availability of this offer may vary depending on your subscription.
If you are a Google One subscriber, you can check the Google One app on your phone or visit one.google.com/benefits to see if you qualify for the Chromecast offer. Google has provided more information about the Chromecast deal here, but signing into a Google account is required to access it.
