South Korean star IU is back with her new album this year. Ahead of the album announcement, IU dropped her pre-release single titled ‘Love Wins All’ on January 24, 2024. The song also features BTS member V as IU’s partner. The duo is seen sharing some crackling chemistry in this melancholic song about love, happiness and end.
LOVE WINS ALL MUSIC VIDEO IS OUT
Set in a zombie-apocalyptic world, IU and V are seen running away from a square-boxed looking alien who has created havoc. In this colourless world, you see IU and V finding a few moments of laughter and happiness before they hit the end. The lyrics have a melancholy feel to it throughout with lines like ‘Dearest, Darling, My Universe, would you take me along? To a place where I can’t dream with my poor imagination.’
IU’s soft vocals are elevated by the piano keys, by making it quite a solemn song to hear and experience. The visuals add a heartwarming touch to the sound, which already has such a deep impact. IU starts of with a soft breathy voice as she introduces us to the world before she takes a high pitch announcing her fear of the inevitable end.
ABOUT IU AND V
BTS fans are already proud of Taehyung’s acting ability and this song really explores the actor side to him in a more matured way. Probably the first time that V has featured a full length song outside BTS and solo songs.
The timeline for IU’s album release is not out as yet. She will, however, embark on a tour this March. On the other hand, V is currently serving his mandatory military duty. He enlisted in December 2023 and is expected to return by June 2025.
