Soon you can change the theme of your WhatsApp chat wallpaper including the chat bubble. According to WABetaInfo, which is a feature tracker, WhatsApp is working on a feature that will allow you to select different color options for your chat.
Furthermore, the report also suggests that the cross-platform messaging platform might allow you to change the chat bubbles color. The upcoming features aim to provide you with a new customisation option. Now you can create a colourful version of your WhatsApp chats beyond the ‘dark’ and ‘light’ theme already existing.
WhatsApp brings a new update
WABetaInfo explained in its official blog that the new feature on the WhatsApp Beta for Android will allow users to set a default chat and chat bubble theme. The blog further added that this feature was spotted in development on the latest beta version of WhatsApp for Android. The development is expected to come a few months after the feature was initially spotted on iOS.

WABetaInfo has discovered the new setting on WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.17.19. The upcoming feature is in its development stage and is only available to users who have the latest beta version for WhatsApp in Android.
What’s in for you
According to a screenshot shared by the feature tracker shows a new ‘Chat theme’ setting on WhatsApp. These options can change both the colour of the wallpaper and message (chat bubbles).
However, the feature is yet to be rolled out publicly. But how will the feature work after it’s rolled out in public? Here’s how you can customize your WhatsApp by using the feature:
- First you need to open WhatsApp.Then click ‘settings’
- After that choose the ‘chat’ option
- As shown in the screenshot shared by WABetaInfo, you will get a new option named ‘chat theme’. Under that you will get a ‘customize’ option.
- Notably, the ‘customization’ feature comes with two options. These include ‘message colour’ and ‘wallpaper.’
- By clicking the ‘message colour’ you can change the colour of the chat bubble.
- By clicking on the ‘Wallpaper’ you can customise your chat theme.
