A single WhatsApp community can now support up to 100 groups.
Meta announced new features for WhatsApp’s ‘Communities’ on Wednesday. This includes the ability to create events and send invites to users within communities, and the ability to reply to a specific post by an admin to get feedback from the members of the community.
Mark Zuckerberg, in his channel, wrote: “If you’re in a WhatsApp Community, you can now create events in your groups and reply to admin announcements. Over the next few months, more groups will be able to create events.”

WhatsApp introduced the Communities feature in November 2022. A single community can have up to 100 different groups, and anyone can create a community free of cost.
Any member of a community can create an event, and others can reply, which will be visible on the group’s information page. Close to the event date, users who have accepted the invite will get an automatic reminder as well.
With the latest update, admins can plan events directly on WhatsApp, without requiring a third-party app or platform. Additionally, users can also respond to an event invite. Meta has also confirmed this feature will also be coming to individual groups in the coming days.
When an admin makes an announcement in a community, users can now reply to it. These replies are grouped together for ease of access. By default, the notifications for these replies are muted.
