New Delhi [India], May 22 (ANI): Bollywood luminary Madhuri Dixit has expressed her heartfelt condolences on the passing of the legendary music composer Vijay Patil, affectionately known as Laxman from the iconic composer duo Raam Laxman.
Vijay, aged 78, passed away on Saturday due to a reported heart attack at his residence in Nagpur.

Taking to her Twitter handle, Madhuri shared her sorrow at the loss of the veteran composer.
“My deepest condolences to the family of #RamLaxman ji. Thank you for your timeless music, including some of my most popular songs from HAHK (Hum Apke Hain Kaun). May the Almighty grant peace to your soul. #RIP,” she tweeted.

Vijay had composed music for numerous iconic songs in 90s Bollywood movies, including Madhuri Dixit’s chartbusters such as ‘Maye Ni Maye’ and ‘Didi Tera Dewar Deewana’.

Earlier today, superstar Salman Khan and the legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar also expressed their grief over the demise of this talented music composer.
Vijay had contributed his musical genius to some of Salman Khan’s most successful films like ‘Maine Pyaar Kiya’, ‘Patthar Ke Phool’, ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain’, and ‘Hum Apke Hain Kaun’.

He had also collaborated with Lata Mangeshkar, who lent her melodious voice to popular Ram Laxman compositions like ‘Maye Ni Maye’, ‘Didi Tera Dewar Deewana’, ‘Kabootar Ja Ja Ja’, among many others. These songs were a part of Salman Khan’s blockbuster films.

Reports suggest that Vijay, who passed away early in the morning today, had received his second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine a few days ago. Following that, he had been feeling weak and fatigued, receiving treatment from a doctor for the same.

Vijay’s musical partner Surendra, known as Raam in the duo, had passed away in 1976 shortly after they signed the film ‘Agent Vinod’. Nevertheless, Vijay continued to honor his memory by using his partner’s name in his creations.

Raam Laxman, renowned for producing exceptional music for numerous Hindi films, also composed music for several Marathi films of Dada Kondke. He composed music for over 75 films in Hindi, Marathi, and Bhojpuri. (ANI)
