Kangana Ranaut Releases Thrilling Promo Teasing Emergency and Announcing Release Date

The teaser for the film “Emergency” has been released, featuring Kangana Ranaut in the role of former Indian Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi. The film’s first look was unveiled at the start of filming, and now, on June 24, the actress has shared the gripping teaser along with the release date. Kangana wrote, “A protector or a Dictator? Witness the darkest phase of our history when the leader of our nation declared a war on its people. #Emergency releasing worldwide on 24th November.” This announcement video coincides with the 48th anniversary of the state of emergency declared by the Prime Minister across India.

The movie, which delves into the life of the former Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi, will hit theaters on November 24, 2023. Kangana, who directs and stars in “Emergency,” expressed her thoughts, stating, “Emergency is one of the most significant and darkest chapters in our history that young India needs to know. It is a crucial story, and I want to thank my super-talented actors, such as the late Satish ji, Anupam ji, Shreyas, Mahima, and Milind, for joining me on this creative journey. I am thrilled to bring this extraordinary episode from India’s history to the big screen. Jaihind!”

In addition to Kangana, the film features Anupam Kher, Mahima Chaudhry, Vishak Nair, and Shreyas Talpade in prominent roles. Indira Gandhi, the former Prime Minister, was the third individual to hold this position and remains the only female to have done so. She was the daughter of Jawaharlal Nehru, India’s first Prime Minister.

Recently, Kangana shared that Vijayendra Prasad, the writer of Baahubali, was moved to tears after watching “Emergency.” She posted on Instagram, “After the entire editing process, Vijendra sir was the first person to watch Emergency. Not only did he wipe his eyes several times while watching the edit, but he also said, ‘I am so proud of you, my child’ after watching it… well, my life is made.”

Prior to this film, Kangana portrayed former Tamil Nadu Prime Minister J Jayalalithaa in her 2021 biopic “Thalaivii.” Apart from “Emergency,” Kangana also has the film “Tejas” in her pipeline.
