The Newcastle Knights have bolstered their squad for the upcoming season with the acquisition of promising Souths forward, Jed Cartwright.
Despite Souths’ desire to retain Cartwright, he made the decision to join the Knights, as he saw more opportunities with the struggling club. Cartwright has signed a two-year deal with Newcastle, starting from next season.
Cartwright comes from a renowned football family. His grandfather, Merv, was one of the founding officials of the Penrith Panthers, while his father, John, represented the Panthers, New South Wales, and Australia in the 1990s before becoming the inaugural coach of the Gold Coast Titans.
