Bulldogs Prop Ryan Sutton Hospitalized Following Taane Milne’s Shoulder Charge in Shock Win Against Rabbitohs: NRL News 2023

The Bulldogs had a worrisome moment when prop Ryan Sutton was taken off the field after a collision with Taane Milne during their match against the Rabbitohs on Saturday. Milne was sin-binned after a lengthy review by the Bunker. Despite the setback, the Bulldogs managed to win the game 36-32, which was a significant turnaround from their previous loss to the Knights.

Sutton was immediately sent to the hospital due to neck pain. Cameron Ciraldo, the Bulldogs’ coach, provided an update on Sutton’s condition, stating that he seemed to be in good spirits and was receiving the best possible care. The opposing coach, Jason Demetriou, disagreed with the sin binning and argued that Milne’s actions were accidental and not responsible for Sutton’s injury.

The injury overshadowed an outstanding performance by the Bulldogs, with Blake Wilson scoring a double and Matt Burton impressing alongside new recruit Toby Sexton. However, there were some moments of controversy, including a laser being shone in Burton’s eye during a conversion kick, resulting in a spectator being ejected from the field.

Despite the Rabbitohs’ late surge, the Bulldogs managed to hold on to their lead and secure the win. Next week, the Bulldogs will face off against Brisbane, while the Rabbitohs have a bye.
