Legendary Newcastle Knights player Andrew Johns has acknowledged that he wasn’t surprised to hear that Kalyn Ponga, the club’s star player who was signed for $1.4 million, had contemplated retirement due to multiple head injuries.
Ponga recently spoke openly with the media about his return to the game after only participating in two matches in the first seven rounds.
“When I first came back, I was a bit nervous,” Ponga confessed.
