Vauban draws No.3, Damien Oliver Alenquer draws No.9, Gold Trip draws No.2

Damien Oliver could have a fairytale finish to his illustrious career after his horse Alenquer was drawn in barrier 9 for Tuesday’s Melbourne Cup.

Oliver, a three-time Melbourne Cup winner, is set to bid farewell to the sport after this year’s spring carnival.

This year’s favourite Vauban drew barrier 3, which has seen five Cup winners, with the most recent being Media Puzzle in 2002.
