Pep Guardiola approves Ilkay Gundogan’s return to Man City from Barcelona

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has reportedly already approved a plan to bring Ilkay Gundogan back to the club from Barcelona this summer.

Gundogan is being linked with his former side after it emerged he could leave Barcelona before the transfer window closes after just one year at the club.

Barcelona need to make exits to register Dani Olmo, with Gundogan one of the highest earners in the squad.

Gundogan is said to have already contacted City about a move, and Fabrizio Romano is now reporting that Guardiola would welcome the midfielder back.

The German star is also thought to have offers from Saudi Arabia and Qatar but it would be no surprise now to see him head back to his former side.

It’s been reported that Gundogan could move on a free transfer, while other more hopeful reports claim Barca could try to get Joao Cancelo involved in the deal.
