Kanhaiya Lal murder case: On June 28, last year, a horrifying incident sent shockwaves throughout the nation. Two men posing as customers entered a tailor’s shop and brutally beheaded him in broad daylight in Udaipur. The latest updates reveal that the makers are currently in talks with the family members of the deceased to produce a film based on the infamous Kanhaiya Murder case in Udaipur.

About the Kanhaiya Lal case:

Kanhaiya Lal, a tailor, was hacked to death inside his shop in Udaipur by two men for allegedly posting content in support of suspended Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Nupur Sharma. The beheading sparked public outrage across the country. Kanhaiya Lal’s son, Yash, received a call from Mumbai-based production company Jani Firefox. He spoke to director Amit Jani, who expressed their intention to make a film about his father, the Kanhaiya Lal murder case.

Director Amit Jani plans to visit Udaipur on June 28, the first death anniversary of Kanhaiya Lal. They will hold further discussions about the film and relevant matters. Yash revealed that the film could be titled ‘Udaipur Files’ and that his family has agreed to support its production. An official announcement from the makers is still pending.

The incident occurred in Udaipur’s Maldas area on June 28. The two perpetrators, shortly after committing the crime, posted a video on social media in which they boasted about the beheading and even threatened the life of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Police promptly arrested the assailants, Riyaz Akhtari and Ghouse Mohammad, within hours of the incident.

In the video, Riyaz is seen attacking 47-year-old Kanhaiya Lal with a sharp-edged weapon, while Ghouse records the heinous act on his mobile phone. It is worth noting that Kanhaiya had previously filed a complaint with the police regarding threats he received.

The victim allegedly shared a social media post in support of Nupur Sharma, a former BJP spokesperson who had made controversial remarks about Prophet Mohammad.
