The Adult Swim Festival on the Green will take place over SDCC weekend. Smiling Friends, Eric Andre, Sarah Sherman… but no Rick and Morty?

Adult Swim Festival is back – and it’s going to make a splash in San Diego during San Diego Comic-Con weekend. Located outside of the San Diego Convention Center at 5th Avenue Landing and Convention Way, the event will feature renowned personalities like Eric Andre from The Eric Andre Show and Flying Lotus, known for his talents as a producer, rapper, and filmmaker. But the star-studded lineup doesn’t end there. The Adult Swim Festival on the Green in San Diego will also showcase performances by highly acclaimed Sarah Sherman, also known as Sarah Squirm from Saturday Night Live and the “Adult Swim Flayaway” Infomercial. Joining Sherman are a talented bunch including Hemlocke Springs, Ginger Root, DeathbyRomy, and the producer and DJ, Akira Akira. If you’re in the vicinity of SDCC 2023, you won’t want to miss out on this incredible event, and the best part is, it’s free for those 18 years and older (with advance reservations through AdultSwimFestival.com).

But that’s not all. What else can you expect at the festival? How about the exciting “‘Smiling Friends’ Rodeo” to celebrate one of Adult Swim’s most popular series, with creators Michael Cusack and Zach Hadel? And if that’s not enough, composers Tyler Bates and Joanne Higginbottom, recognized for their work on Genndy Tartakovsky’s Primal and Unicorn: Warriors Eternal, will be joined by a live orchestra for “The Genndy Tartakovsky Musical Experience,” featuring an introduction by the visionary creator himself. Anime fans won’t be left out either, as the “Toonami on the Green” event promises breaking news, surprise guests, and exclusive reveals. Additionally, in honor of Adult Swim’s upcoming “Checkered Past” programming block, which includes some of its greatest hits and more, the festival will host a trivia and screening event. It’s worth noting that while the key art has been released, there is no initial mention of Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland’s beloved series, Rick and Morty. However, there’s still time for that to change with a new season expected this fall and the highly anticipated release of Rick and Morty: The Anime later this year.
