BCCI Releases Fitness Updates on Jasprit Bumrah, Indicates Possible Return of Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul, and Rishabh Pant

Just a few months away from the Asia and ICC World Cup 2023, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has provided an update on the rehabilitation of injured players. According to the BCCI, Jasprit Bumrah and Prasidh Krishna are in the final stages of their recovery and are currently bowling with full intensity in the practice nets.

The BCCI has released medical and fitness updates on five players who are undergoing rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru. These players include Jasprit Bumrah, Prasidh Krishna, KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, and Rishabh Pant.

Regarding the progress of the fast bowlers, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah stated, “Both Bumrah and Krishna are in the final stages of their recovery and are bowling with full intensity in the nets. The NCA will organize practice games for them, and the BCCI Medical Team will make a final decision on their availability after assessing their performance in these games.”

As for Iyer and Rahul, Shah mentioned that both batsmen have resumed batting in the nets and are currently undergoing strength and fitness drills.

In the case of Pant, the BCCI noted, “He has shown significant progress in his rehabilitation and has started batting and keeping wickets in the practice nets. He is following a fitness program designed for him, which includes strength, flexibility, and running.”

The Indian Cricket Team has a busy schedule from September onwards, including the Asia Cup and the World Cup 2023.
