Bethesda Confirms: Starfield Physical Copies for Xbox Series X|S Will Exclusively Include Game’s Disc

Bethesda has confirmed that physical copies of Starfield will include the game’s disc, but only for consoles. This information was clarified on Bethesda’s official website.

In a new page discussing pre-order bonuses, Constellation Edition, and Early Access details, Bethesda has confirmed that the retail edition of Starfield for Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S will include a game disc. However, the physical PC standard edition will only include a game code. Similarly, the physical Constellation Edition will also only include a download code, which is surprising considering it is supposed to be the ultimate edition of the game.

Given that Starfield features a massive world with multiple explorable planets, it is not surprising to learn that the game will have a download size of 125 GB, at least on PC. Additionally, an SSD will be required to play the game, ensuring the smoothest experience possible for this expansive open-world role-playing game.

Since Bethesda is now owned by Microsoft, Starfield will only be released on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC. Unfortunately, PlayStation 5 owners will not be able to play the game. However, this console exclusivity allowed for a quicker release as the game didn’t have to be developed for an additional platform, as stated by Pete Hines.

Starfield is set to launch worldwide on September 6th for PC, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S.
