After experiencing five years of immense success with the horror comedy “Stree,” Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao have embarked on the journey of shooting the sequel.
Rajkummar Rao took to his Instagram account to share a playful selfie with his co-star Shraddha Kapoor. In the photo, Shraddha is seen wearing a bandani dupatta while Rajkummar is dressed in a black shirt. They strike a pose for the camera, with Rajkumar putting his finger on his lips and Shraddha resting her hand on her cheek. Alongside the playful picture, Rajkummar wrote, “What will happen when we meet #stree and #purush again? #Stree2.”
Shraddha also shared the picture on her Instagram story, adding a funny response, “woh stree hai, woh (shhh… emoji) nahi karegi.” She also expressed her excitement, saying, “Chanderi calling…Excitement rising.”
Back in April, Dinesh Vijan announced that “Stree 2” would be hitting the screens next year. During an event, the team performed a skit to unveil the release date of August 31, 2024. The cast fondly recalled their previous encounter with ‘Stree’ and expressed their hope that she wouldn’t return. However, Shraddha made a comeback, reminding everyone that she played the ghostly character and was ready to scare Rajkumar’s Vicky once again.
“Stree,” set in the small town of Chanderi in Madhya Pradesh, tells the tale of a malevolent entity named ‘Stree’ who kidnaps men at night during the festive season. The film drew inspiration from the popular urban legend of “Nale Ba,” which gained wide recognition in Karnataka during the 1990s.
