Washington [US], May 22 (ANI): Prominent American figures including Billy Eichner, Nancy Pelosi, and Amy Poehler will be joining New York’s historic venue, The Stonewall Inn, as it kicks off LGBTQ Pride Month with an exciting streaming concert on June 1. The event aims to raise funds for The Stonewall Inn Gives Back Safe Spaces initiatives.
The Safe Spaces initiative is dedicated to identifying and designating various establishments, such as entertainment venues, restaurants, stores, and businesses, as safe spaces for members of the LGBTQA+ community.
“The Stonewall Inn is one of the original safe spaces, and it is imperative that we create more safe spaces for the LGBTQA+ community throughout the country,” stated Kurt Kelly, co-owner of the Stonewall Inn.
Stacy Lentz, co-owner of the Stonewall Inn and CEO of The Stonewall Inn Gives Back Initiative, emphasized the importance of ensuring that establishments claiming to be LGBTQA+ friendly and safe for the community are truly committed to creating a safe and inclusive environment. This involves implementing appropriate policies, procedures, and training.
Pride Live and Outloud: Raising Voices have teamed up for the fourth annual Stonewall Day celebration, a three-day concert at the Memorial Coliseum in Los Angeles from June 4-6. The event, curated by Adam Lambert, will feature performances by Chelsea Clinton, Whoopi Goldberg, Kim Petras, Geena Rocero, Angelica Ross, Rafael Silva, Sam Sparro, Ryan Jamaal Swain, George Takei, VINCINT, Chely Wright, and Conchita Wurst. The concert will be produced by Tom D’Angora, Michael D’Angora, and Victoria Varela. (ANI)
