The competition has become more challenging and thrilling as the top 10 contestants compete for the trophy, showcasing their unique culinary techniques. Adi Nevgi, an Indian-Origin chef, has consistently impressed the judges with her mouth-watering and inventive dishes, particularly Indian delicacies.
In a surprise mystery box challenge that pushed the boundaries of creativity, the 31-year-old decided to put a Mexican twist on the Indian street favorite, Pani Puri. Expressing her excitement about recreating the classic dish, she said, “I’m making Pani Puri, which is a popular Indian street snack. The traditional dish consists of a hollow inflated dough ball filled with potato and various spices. Today, I’m filling it with surprising flavors – salmon roe and avocado. I want to surprise the judges with what’s inside, so when they take a bite, they’ll say, ‘Oh! I didn’t expect that!'”
For Adi, nothing compares to the crispy, spicy flavors of Pani Puri. She states, “I love Pani Puri. I think it’s one of the best Indian street foods.”
The judges were instantly impressed with the Pani Puri, and Nevgi’s fusion dish wowed them. But her culinary adventures didn’t stop there. She took to Instagram and said, “Following the success of the Mexican Pani Puri, I’d like to try Taiwanese Pani Puri (inspired by bubble tea), Dessert Pani Puri (dunked in chocolate milk), and Dance Floor Pani Puri (a shot of vodka). The original is perfect, but let’s push the boundaries and see how far we can go.”
Nevgi has always expressed her pride and love for Indian cuisine. Previously, she earned praise for her spicy and aromatic Maharashtrian Squid Curry and Butter Chicken.
