Renowned Tollywood choreographer Rakesh Master passed away on Sunday after a brief illness. He was 53 years old. Rakesh fell ill during his return to Hyderabad from an outdoor shoot in Visakhapatnam a week ago. His condition worsened, leading to his admission to Gandhi Hospital in Hyderabad. Unfortunately, he succumbed to multi-organ failure caused by severe metabolic acidosis. Rakesh’s demise has left the film industry in shock.

Rakesh Master initially gained recognition through dance reality shows like “Aata” and “Dhee” before pursuing a career in the film industry. Throughout his career, he worked as a choreographer in approximately 1,500 movies, delivering numerous hit songs. Born as S. Rama Rao in Tirupati, Rakesh Master started his journey by working under Master Mukku Raju in Hyderabad.

During his career, he collaborated with renowned actors such as Venkatesh, Nagarjuna, Mahesh Babu, Ram Pothineni, and Prabhas. However, he had distanced himself from the industry in recent times. Some of his social media interviews had stirred controversy, as he made allegations against certain film personalities for hindering his career.

It is worth mentioning that Sekhar Master, one of the top choreographers in Tollywood, was a disciple of Rakesh Master.
