Details of BGMI Relaunch in India with Daily Time Limits for iOS and Android, including the Introduction of New Nusa Map

BGMI, the popular battle royale game, has made a comeback in India. After being banned in the country for almost a year, it is now available to play on iOS and Android smartphones. Krafton, the developer, has implemented certain restrictions on playing Battlegrounds Mobile India, including daily time limits. In addition to these restrictions, the latest update introduces a new map set on a small resort island in a tropical zone. Players can also expect new in-game events and updates to the classic maps.

Krafton announced the relaunch of BGMI in India just two days after allowing Android users to preload the game. Both iOS and Android users can now download BGMI from the App Store and Play Store respectively. However, player access will be staggered, with the login process being divided into phases over 48 hours.

Based on the age of the users, BGMI will enforce playtime restrictions in India. Minors will be limited to three hours of gameplay per day, while those above 18 can play for up to six hours. The game will also restrict daily spending for players under 18, and parental verification will remain in place, according to the publisher.

The latest update, version 2.5, introduces the Nusa map, which is the smallest map in the game to date. Set in a tropical environment, Nusa offers new features such as ziplines, a Super Recall feature, a tactical crossbow, and a two-seater off-road vehicle. Each match on Nusa lasts eight minutes, as confirmed by Krafton.

After addressing concerns regarding server locations and data security, BGMI has received a three-month “trial approval” from the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY). MoS IT Rajeev Chandrasekhar announced that the government will closely monitor these issues, as well as the impact on gaming addiction and user safety, throughout the trial period.
