EA Introduces a New Black Panther Game Collaborating with Marvel, Featuring an Immersive Single-Player Experience

Electronic Arts (EA) has officially announced its collaboration with Marvel to develop a Black Panther game. This exciting partnership follows EA’s previous announcement of an Iron Man game. The deal, made in September 2022, signifies a long-term commitment to creating new games based on Marvel characters. With the addition of at least one more game in development, EA is set to deliver a total of three Marvel games.

EA expressed its vision for the Black Panther game in a press release, stating their mission to create an expansive and immersive world where players can step into the role of Wakanda’s protector. The press release emphasized the goal of empowering players to experience the essence of being the Black Panther.

EA has announced a Black Panther game

Leading the development of the Black Panther game is Kevin Stephens, formerly associated with Monolith Productions and known for his work on Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor and Middle-earth: Shadow of War. Stephens joined EA in 2021 to establish a new studio, Cliffhanger Games. The team at Cliffhanger includes members who have contributed to notable titles such as Halo, God of War, and Call of Duty.

Stephens shared his dedication to crafting an authentic Black Panther experience, promising players more agency and control over the narrative compared to previous story-driven video games. He described Wakanda as a rich superhero sandbox and expressed the studio’s commitment to creating an epic world that Black Panther enthusiasts can explore and enjoy.

While the journey to develop the Black Panther game has just begun, Stephens advised fans not to expect its release in the near future. He assured them that the game will be meticulously crafted to ensure attention to detail and authenticity, deserving of the world of Black Panther.

EA’s announcement of the Black Panther game aims to attract talented developers to join their team. The company plans to expand the development team over the next few years, acknowledging the importance of diverse voices and perspectives in creating a game centered around such a crucial superhero as Black Panther.

As of now, no specific platforms have been confirmed for the Black Panther game. However, considering the current gaming landscape, it is likely to be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

In the immediate future, fans can look forward to Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 from Insomniac Games, set to launch in October exclusively for PlayStation 5. Insomniac Games is also working on a Wolverine game, further expanding Marvel’s gaming universe.
