Bigg Boss OTT 2: Who can forget Cyrus Broacha and his unforgettable ‘bakra’ days? Cyrus, the versatile anchor, comedian, satirist, and podcaster, is now seen in the controversial reality show Bigg Boss OTT 2, hosted by Salman Khan. In an exclusive conversation with India TV, Cyrus Broacha discusses his strategy, expectations, and how he plans to handle tense situations in the show.

What motivated you to participate in Bigg Boss OTT?

It’s an interesting question. To be honest, I initially tried to say no, but the show’s producers were persistent and persuasive, much like my wife when she wants her way. Eventually, I gave in and said yes. Additionally, I have a personal connection with some of the people who approached me, making it difficult to decline their offer. Unfortunately, I cannot disclose their names, but my biography, which will be released in three years, will reveal all.

What is your strategy? Will you choose to play in a group or individually?

My strategy is simple. I will go with the flow of the social dynamic within the house. I aim to enjoy myself, have fun, and survive for as long as I can. And when I eventually leave the show, I will have plenty of stories to share. Furthermore, once the contractual obligations expire, I can even incorporate my experiences into a stand-up show. So, there are many positive aspects to participating in Bigg Boss OTT 2. Personally, I believe it is important for someone like me to step out of their comfort zone, as Steven Ward, one of my favorite cricketers, described in his book ‘Out of My Comfort Zone’. Despite lacking preparation, I am excited to embark on this adventure.

How do you plan to navigate the challenges of limited privacy and personal space in the Bigg Boss OTT house?

Lack of privacy and personal space is not a major concern for me. As an exhibitionist, I do not worry about who sees what. In our industry, one cannot thrive if they are shy or overly concerned about such matters. Although 24-hour surveillance is different from shorter shifts, I have watched Bigg Boss extensively, especially during its early years when I knew some of the contestants. It is fascinating to observe how they cope, particularly when it comes to making new friends. The experience can be likened to going back to school as adults, where we encounter new people from diverse backgrounds and gradually form connections. It is an intriguing social experiment.

In the past, we have seen you criticize Bigg Boss contestants. Are you ready to handle criticism yourself?

After a lifetime of criticism, it no longer affects me significantly. In fact, I find myself more unsure of how to handle praise because it is such a rare occurrence. Criticism has become the norm for me, as people are always quick to say negative things.

Can we expect to see your angry side in Bigg Boss? Are you cautious about displaying it on-screen?

Undoubtedly, there will be moments in the house that will bring out my angry side. It may happen within the first week itself. However, I have a tendency to get angry quickly and cool down just as fast. I have been involved in fights where I started by throwing the first punch but lost interest soon after, resulting in a severe beating. Hence, I don’t think anger will be a significant issue for me. It dissipates quickly and leaves my system. Additionally, we try to maintain good behavior, especially towards new people, which is psychologically easier than being nice to those we know and may not necessarily like. Let’s focus on the first week for now, and if I manage to reach the fifth week, then we can consider the possibility of emotions running wild.

Whose journey in previous seasons of Bigg Boss has inspired you the most and is something you would like to emulate?

I would say the journey of MC from the last season. He has truly reached new heights of success, being featured on billboards throughout Mumbai. It is not just about winning, but also about making a lasting impact, as demonstrated by several contestants over the years.

What are the mistakes you’ve observed in previous seasons that you are certain not to repeat?

Without naming anyone specifically, I aim to stay true to myself. I find it disconcerting when people I know personally change their behavior drastically during the show. In fact, I even questioned the producers of Bigg Boss about whether the contestants receive coaching or instructions during the show. While they denied it, I remain skeptical due to my personal observations. Authenticity is important to me, as I am not skilled at being anyone other than myself.
