The National Crafts Museum is hosting a two-week educational initiative called #KnowYourWeave, dedicated to educating and reconnecting India’s future generations with the country’s rich heritage. The event aims to raise awareness and appreciation for the work of artisans and weavers from all over the country.
#KnowYourWeave offers a unique and insightful journey into the intricate world of Indian handlooms and weaves. Renowned craftsmen and weavers from various handloom clusters across India will guide visiting students through the complete process of creating handlooms from different regions, including Banarsi Brocade, Ikat, Paithani, Jamdani, North-eastern textiles, and more. Visitors will learn about the entire journey, from raw fibers to the exquisite finished products.
