‘Gautam Gambhir ended Virat Kohli feud, should have been other way’: Amit Mishra

Amit Mishra has claimed that Gautam Gambhir went and ended his feud with Virat Kohli and it should have been the other way around. Gambhir and Kohli were involved in a public altercation during the IPL 2023 season when RCB and LSG faced off in Lucknow. Both men were involved in a heated argument with Naveen-ul-Haq also involved in the spat and it saw all three men get reprimanded.

However, things were all sorted out between Gambhir and Kohli during the IPL 2024 season as both men hugged it out during the KKR vs RCB game in Bengaluru. They were also seen having conversations in the reverse fixture in Kolkata ahead of the game. Speaking on YouTuber Shubhankar Mishra’s show, Amit would talk about the whole thing and said it was Gambhir who took the first initiative to mend the fences with Kohli.

The leg spinner said it was the former KKR mentor who had approached Kohli and asked him how his family was and he was the one who ended the feud and not the star batter. Amit Mishra said Gambhir showed his big heart at the time and it should been Kohli who could have done it instead.

“I saw a good thing about Gautam. Virat Kohli didn’t go towards him, Gautam went towards him. He went and asked ‘How are you, how’s your family.’ So it was Gautam who ended the feud and not Kohli.”

“So Gautam showed his big heart at that time. It should have been Kohli who should have gone and ended the feud. He should have gone and said ‘Gauti bhai, let’s end this,'” said Amit Mishra.

Kohli and Gambhir set to work together

Kohli and Gambhir are now all set to work together once again as the former opener was appointed as the new head coach of the Indian cricket team. Gambhir replaced Rahul Dravid and will start his tenure with the Sri Lanka tour, starting on July 27.
