Hardik Pandya is expected to miss India’s next World Cup encounter against England on October 29 in Lucknow, as per CricketNext. Pandya has been recovering from an ankle injury sustained during India’s clash with Bangladesh on October 19.

India’s champion all-rounder was ruled out of the Men in Blue’s match against New Zealand in Dharamshala. While the injury is not believed to be a major one, the management is hesitant to push Pandya and wants to give me more time to be fit.

“Yes, Hardik is likely to miss the next match vs England in Lucknow. It is more of a precaution at this stage and nothing serious,” CricketNext quoted a BCCI official as saying.

Following the game, Rohit Sharma discussed Pandya’s condition with the media. While the Indian skipper made it clear that the injury was not serious, he emphasised that more evaluations would be required. He stated that such injuries would require daily monitoring. Sharma played down the incident, assuring fans that India’s vice-captain had not suffered any serious injuries.

“There is no major damage, that is good for us. But obviously, with an injury like that, we have to assess every day and we will do whatever is required,” ANI quoted Sharma as saying.
