If you’re using the iOS 17 beta, Apple enables iPhone sign-ins

It seems that Apple ID passkeys are now supported, but only if you have the first beta for iOS 17, iPadOS 17, or macOS Sonoma. Beta users of Apple’s operating systems can now sign in anywhere that supports Apple ID, including Apple.com, icloud.com, and other linked accounts, without the need for passwords. Users can simply use the biometrics on their iPhone or MacBook to sign in.

This feature works on any Apple device. For example, when signing in to Reddit, users can choose the “Continue with Apple” option and scan a QR code with their iPhone.

The passkey feature works on Chrome, Safari, and Arc browsers on Apple devices. However, it may not work on Windows PCs or Android phones. It is expected that once fully launched, passkeys can be generated on non-Apple devices as well, using browsers like Chrome or Edge on Android or Windows.

Once a passkey is created on an Apple device, it can be synced across all devices, allowing biometric logins to be used for Apple ID sign-ins. In the future, passkeys may also be generated on non-Apple devices using Android or Windows and browsers like Chrome or Edge.
