IND vs ENG Live Score Updates, 1st Test Day 4 Today: Debutant Tom Hartley finished with a 7-fer as England beat India by 28 runs in the first Test in Hyderabad and took a 1-0 lead in the five-match series. Earlier, Ollie Pope’s 196 took England to 420. Jasprit Bumrah was the pick of the bowlers for India with four wickets

Other than Pope, Ben Duckett (47), Ben Foakes (34), and Zak Crawley (31) made handy contributions with the bat. For India, Ravichandran Ashwin and Jasprit Bumrah nabbed a couple wickets each while Axar Patel and Ravindra Jadeja also struck.

Earlier, England managed to dismiss India for 436 by getting rid of the set batters Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel in quick succession. The hosts, as a result, were only able to add 15 more runs to their lead of 175, which they had at Stumps on Day 2.

The new ball was taken off Jasprit Bumrah’s hand after a two-over spell. With R Ashwin immediately finding turn, Rohit Sharma brought Axar Patel from the other end. Switching between mid-on or short fine-leg, Bumrah would use every opportunity, sometimes just five-ten seconds, to urgently shine the ball. When the ball was not in his hands, standing at fine-leg, he would point out the BCCI emblem on his t-shirt to whoever had the ball, signalling which side of the ball to shine. (Read more)
