Unfortunately for Sanju Samson’s side, they have missed out on the top-2 spot in the points table with their last game of the league stages having ended in a tie. We have the final points table where Kolkata Knight Riders, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bengaluru have made it to the playoffs for the 2024 season.

IPL 2024 Points Table After League Stages
Pos Team Played Won Lost  NR Points NRR
1 Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) 14 9 3 2 19 1.428
2 Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) 14 8 5 1 17 0.414
3 Rajasthan Royals (RR) 14 8 5 1 16 0.273
4 Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) 14 7 7 0 14 0.459
5 Chennai Super Kings (CSK) 14 7 7 0 14 0.392
6 Delhi Capitals (DC) 14 7 7 0 14 -0.377

8 Gujarat Titans (GT) 14 5 7 2 12 -1.063
9 Punjab Kings (PBKS) 14 5 9 0 10 -0.353
10 Mumbai Indians (MI) 14 4 10 0 8 -0.318

At the top of the table is none other than KKR who have been led by Shreyas Iyer in exceptional fashion. They had all their bases covered and have had performances all through the XI. They are clearly the side to beat in the tournament and Sunil Narine’s return to form has taken his batting to an all-time high combined with his consistent performances with the ball.

The Sunrisers Hyderabad seem to be back to their best and have put their woes chasing down big totals behind them at the right time. SRH thanks to a fiery fifty by Abhishek Sharma were able to chase down 215 with ease and will look ahead for the playoff spot as Pat Cummins eyes yet another trophy.

The Rajasthan Royals despite having a fine start to the tournament, ended up at third in the points table after losing four games on the trot. Sanju Samson’s side will now look at getting back to form in the Eliminator if they are to put forth a title charge. But with the lack of Jos Buttler and uncertainty among some of the other overseas player, it is going to be difficult for RR to turn the tides.

The Royal Challengers Bengaluru after doing the impossible last night have creeped up to fourth in the points table to claim the final playoff spot by beating Chennai Super Kings. Despite the odds being stacked against them, the Bengaluru-based unit was able to come together to put up a string of performances to get them into the next stage of the playoffs.

The Punjab Kings finished ninth in the 2024 season. Their season was marred with changes with the skipper Shikhar Dhawan missing out majority of the games due to a shoulder injury. Sam Curran was asked to be the skipper but the side were unable to put up consistent performances. Shashank Singh was the standout player for the side along with Harshal Patel with the bat and ball respectively.
