Ishan Kishan draws a parallel between Ajinkya Rahane and WI’s Jomel Warrican, saying “Aap se zyada ball khel gaya”. Watch now.

India triumphed over West Indies in the first test at Dominica, securing a commanding lead of 141 runs to take a 1-0 advantage in the two-match series. The exceptional performances of Ravichandran Ashwin and debutant Yashasvi Jaiswal deserve special mention for this victory.

However, the highlight of the match was not the on-field action but the humorous comments made by Indian wicketkeeper Ishan Kishan from behind the stumps.

Kishan, who was also making his debut, stole the show with his witty remarks directed towards both his teammates and the opposition. Thanks to the amplified sounds from the stump microphones, Kishan’s banter provided entertainment to the viewers and even amused the commentators.

The wicketkeeper-batsman was heard giving instructions to Virat Kohli, offering suggestions to captain Rohit Sharma, and playfully warning Shubman Gill. On the third day, Kishan caught everyone’s attention with his trolling of teammate and vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane.

As R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja dominated the West Indies batting lineup, Jomel Warrican, the number 11 batsman, frustrated the Indian team with his unique stance and unorthodox shots. Warrican managed to score 18 runs, including three boundaries. Observing Warrican’s resilience, Kishan remarked to Rahane that the West Indian player had faced more deliveries than the Indian vice-captain. Rahane, standing in the slips, was taken aback by Kishan’s sledge and responded with confusion.

Earlier, Rahane had been dismissed for just 3 runs off 11 balls, losing his wicket to Kemar Roach while attempting an uppish drive.

The Player of the Match award was given to debutant Yashasvi Jaiswal for his outstanding knock of 171 runs. This makes him the third-highest scorer by an Indian on Test debut, following Shikhar Dhawan (187) and Rohit Sharma (187), as reported by Hindustan Times.
