New Arena Game Mode Unveiled by ‘League Of Legends’

A new game mode called Arena is set to be introduced to League of Legends during the exciting six-week Soul Fighter event, beginning on July 20th, according to Riot Games.

In an official statement, the studio described Arena as a game mode in which four teams of two players battle each other in rotating combat rounds. It functions as a last team standing mode, with the added feature of being able to power up characters using unique Augments after each round.

These battles will take place in one of four themed battlefields that vary in size and terrain. Additionally, champions from the new alternate universe of Soul Fighter will make appearances in matches, though their intentions are unknown.

Soul Fighter is set in a different reality where competitors strive to prove themselves in combat on the biggest stage, known as the Tournament of Souls.

Furthermore, the Soul Fighter event will extend across League of Legends, Legends of Runeterra, Teamfight Tactics, and League of Legends: Wild Rift.

“We’re thrilled about the diverse range of experiences that the Soul Fighter event brings to the League of Legends ecosystem,” said Andrei van Roon, the head of League Studio. “Arena, Soul Brawl, and Tag Duel offer fresh and unique ways to enjoy League of Legends, Teamfight Tactics, and Wild Rift, respectively. We are excited to receive player feedback once they have the opportunity to try them out.”

In regards to Riot’s other games, Teamfight Tactics will introduce the new Soul Brawl mode, consisting of a two-stage temporary game mode. The training stage allows players to compete for Soul Power, which unlocks new loot options, while the tournament phase is a best-of-three bracket tournament.

Meanwhile, Wild Rift will receive Tag Duel, a one-on-one combat mode. Additionally, all games within the League of Legends universe will receive new skins and cosmetics that align with the Soul Fighter aesthetic.

In other news, Diablo 4 and Overwatch 2 have recovered from a prolonged DDoS attack over the weekend.
