Neymar to ‘play for Al-Hilal’ in Saudi Arabia, deal underway for PSG transfer: Report

Brazilian superstar Neymar is currently in talks with Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal, as he looks to make a move from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). This surprising development comes shortly after Kylian Mbappe’s return to PSG.

Sources close to PSG have revealed that Neymar, at the age of 31, is no longer seen as part of the club’s future plans. The talented Brazilian player is now being linked to Al-Hilal in the Gulf region.

Insiders have mentioned that “direct negotiations” are currently underway between Neymar’s agents and the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund (PIF). However, this report has not been independently verified by LiveMint.

“If we reach an agreement with him in the coming hours, we would start negotiating with PSG immediately. He would play for Al-Hilal if a deal is sealed,” said a source quoted by AFP.

This potential transfer would be a major move for Neymar, who set a record-breaking transfer fee of €220 million (around ₹1,800 crore) when he moved from Barcelona to PSG in 2017. Speculation in football circles suggests that Al-Hilal might make an offer of around $80 million to secure Neymar’s services.

Neymar’s time at PSG has been plagued by injuries, which have often sidelined him during crucial matches. Despite this, he played a key role in leading the club to the 2020 Champions League final.

If this transfer does happen, Neymar will join other football stars who have been attracted to Saudi Arabia’s lucrative football scene. Cristiano Ronaldo’s move to Al-Nassr in 2023 set the precedent, and now Neymar could follow suit.

Al-Hilal’s potential signing of Neymar could further enhance their status as one of Saudi Arabia’s top clubs. With a history that includes four Asian Champions League victories, Al-Hilal is poised to make a significant impact in the world of football.
