Newcastle’s dominant 29-10 victory over the Rabbitohs is under scrutiny after Daniel Saifiti was allegedly awarded a try off an eight-tackle set.
Sydney Morning Herald and 9News reporter Michael Chammas revealed the information during Nine’s coverage of Sunday’s second game.
“There was a try in the 55th minute to Daniel Saifiti which was scored from an eight tackle set,” Chammas said.

“It was a seven tackle set, they got a set restart at the 20-metre line, they went down field and they scored a try to Daniel Saifiti. It was 12-4 at the time, a crucial time in the match.”
South Sydney boss Blake Solley spoke to the Herald about the alleged incident.

“Make no mistake, the best team on the day won,” Solly said.
