Ravindra Jadeja’s wife says PM Modi’s presence in Indian team’s dressing room reflected his compassionate statesmanship

BJP MLA and cricketer Ravindra Jadeja’s wife Rivaba Jadeja has praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi after he visited the dressing room of Team India to console and lift the morale of the players following their heartbreaking defeat to Australia in the World Cup final in Ahmedabad.

In a tweet, Rivaba Jadeja, who represents Jamnagar North assembly constituency in Gujarat, said the Prime Minister’s presence in the dressing room reflected his compassionate statesmanship. She attached a video of PM Modi greeting and consoling the players in the dressing room.

“Prime Minister @narendramodi Ji’s unwavering leadership shines in moments of victory and defeat. His presence in the dressing room after the World Cup loss reflects compassionate statesmanship, uplifting spirits with words of encouragement and unity,” she wrote on X on Tuesday.

Rivaba Jadeja was present at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad where India and Australia were playing their World Cup final on November 19. Seen as favourites to win the World Cup, India’s dream run in the tournament came to a screeching halt as they were defeated by Australia by six wickets to win their record sixth World Cup title.

Inserted to bat first by Australian captain Pat Cummins after losing the toss, India put up a lacklustre performance with the bat, managing just 240 in their 50 overs. In reply, Australia rode on Travis Head’s magnificent 137 and Marnus Labuschagne’s crucial 58.
