Redmi 13 5G coming to India soon but it may be sold as Poco M7 Pro 5G

Xiaomi is apparently working on the Redmi 13 5G smartphone. And the good news is that the smartphone is likely coming to India. However, as per reports the Redmi 13 5G may be rebranded and brought to India as the Poco M7 Pro 5G, according to a report by Android Headlines. As per the listing, the Redmi 13 5G aka Poco M7 Pro 5G will likely feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset. That was the same chipset that the Redmi 12 5G used last year. In fact, reports suggest that the Redmi 13 5G will not be much of an improvement over the Redmi 12 5G.

According to the report, the Redmi 13 5G comes with different model numbers, like 2406ERN9CI, 2406ERN9CC, and 24066PC95I. These numbers also tell us where the phone will be sold. “RN” means it’s under the Redmi brand, and “PC” stands for POCO brand. For example, “2406ERN9CI” is for India, while “2406ERN9CC” is for China.

The report also explains that the model number “24066PC95I” suggests that the Redmi 13 5G will be sold as part of the POCO brand in India. It might be called the POCO M7 Pro 5G, following the naming convention of previous models. However, this name isn’t official yet, so it could change.

The Redmi 13 5G will likely resemble the Redmi 12 5G, with some minor adjustments. The smartphone is expected to run Android 14-based HyperOS.

Further, since reports suggest that the Redmi 13 5G will not be much of an improvement over the Redmi 12 5G, revisiting the key specifications of the latter will give us an idea about what to expect from the upcoming Redmi 13 5G. The Redmi 12 5G features a Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset, enabling 5G connectivity. The smartphone uses a 50-megapixel main camera, accompanied by a 2-megapixel depth sensor and LED flash. For selfies, it features an 8-megapixel front camera. Fuelling the Redmi 12 5G is a 5,000mAh battery, supporting 18W charging via a USB Type-C port. With these specs, the Redmi 12 5G offers smooth performance and enhanced connectivity, making it a compelling choice in the budget segment. With slight improvements, Redmi 13 5G has the potential of retaining that position in the entry-level market.

As for pricing, the Redmi 12 5G was launched at Rs 10,999 for the 4GB RAM and 128 GB storage variant and Rs 12,499 for the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage model.
