After recent leaks, it has been officially confirmed by EA that horses are returning to The Sims series after a decade-long absence. The Sims 4 Horse Ranch Expansion Pack will be released on July 20 for $50 and will be available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One.
In a newly released trailer, we get a glimpse of the features that were accidentally revealed through a Steam page leak. The expansion pack offers a variety of horse-related activities, mini goats and sheep, cookouts, dances, and a western-themed ranching community.
The highlight of this expansion pack is the inclusion of horses. Players can rescue or purchase horses, as well as create and customize them using the Create A Sim feature. Additionally, foals can be born on your ranch. Horses, like cats and dogs, will be a part of your household, taking up a household slot, and forming social bonds with sims.
Both riders and horses can improve their skills, with sims gaining the Riding skill and horses gaining Agility and Jumping skills. Riders can train and compete for prizes at the equestrian center.
Horse Ranch introduces new social elements in the game, such as a charming town with a bar and dance hall for socializing. Players also have the option to host their own dance or cookout events at the ranch.
In terms of additional features, players can harvest Prairie Grass to feed their animals on the ranch, use Horse Manure as fertilizer for plants, and even produce Nectar, a Sims universe equivalent to wine that hasn’t been seen since The Sims 3.
For players who pre-order or purchase Horse Ranch by August 31, a free content pack will be included, featuring a guitar, a floral wagon wheel decoration, and a rocking horse.
