Sourav Ganguly Unimpressed with India vs Pakistan Matches, Holds This Team in Higher Regard as Rival

Indian cricket fans are eagerly awaiting the upcoming ICC World Cup, which will be hosted by India for the first time in its entirety. Led by Rohit Sharma, the Indian team is determined to end their decade-long drought of ICC trophies. The last time India won an ICC title was in 2013 when Mahendra Singh Dhoni captained the team to victory in the Champions Trophy, shortly after their World Cup triumph in 2011.

One of the most highly anticipated matches of the tournament is the clash between India and Pakistan, scheduled for October 15 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. However, former India captain Sourav Ganguly suggests that recent encounters between the arch-rivals have lacked competitive quality.

Ganguly points out that India has been dominant in their matches against Pakistan in recent years, resulting in one-sided contests. He acknowledges that Pakistan’s victory over India in the T20 World Cup in Dubai marked a significant turning point in their rivalry.

Reflecting on the previous encounter between the two teams at the T20 World Cup 2022, Ganguly highlights the thrilling nature of the match, which went down to the last ball. India emerged as the victors with a four-wicket win in Melbourne. However, Ganguly believes that India’s matches against Australia in the World Cup tend to showcase higher quality cricket.

While India did not perform well in the 2021 T20 World Cup, Ganguly suggests that the India vs. Australia rivalry consistently delivers superior cricketing battles.

The India vs Pakistan match in Ahmedabad has led to a staggering surge in hotel rates. Prices have skyrocketed to ₹1 lakh per room, a ten-fold increase compared to the rates observed in July.

Luxury hotels in Ahmedabad usually charge an average of ₹5,000-8,000 per night, but these prices have reached ₹40,000 and even ₹1 lakh in certain establishments.
