South Africa vs Afghanistan Highlights, Cricket World Cup 2023: Rassie van der Dussen anchored the innings of South Africa to complete their first convincing chase in this tournament. This win will give them huge confidence in their semifinal clash against Australia later in the month. Though there were quite a few hiccups in the chase while Rashid Khan was bowling the other bowlers could not maintain similar pressure and South Africa did get out of the jail in the chase because of Rassie and a handy cameo from Phehlukwayo at the end.

New Zealand’s comprehensive win over Sri Lanka has all but confirmed their spot in the semifinals and a repeat of the 2019 match-up when they prevailed over India. The Kiwis ended their league engagements with 10 points, and though both Pakistan and Afghanistan can match that with wins over England and South Africa respectively, the gap in net run rate (NRR) is almost too much to bridge.

As things stand, Pakistan have an NRR of 0.036 while the corresponding figure for Afghanistan is -0.338. (Read more)
