Suniel Shetty‘s daughter Athiya Shetty got married to cricketer KL Rahulin January 2023. The couple will soon celebrate a year of their wedding which was all dreamy. Ever since Athiya and Rahul made their relationship official, even before they tied the knot, Suniel has always been extremely proud of his son-in-law. He is also his biggest cheerleader.Hence, in a recent interview Shetty has revealed how he feels when people trolled KL Rahul.
Suniel was asked in an interview with ANI if it hurts him when KL is trolled. He reacted and said, that it hurts him more than it probably hurts Rahul. He revealed that Rahul would tell him to not react and said, ‘Dad my bat will talk’. Suniel further added, that his bat did talk. “The faith of the people in him, the selectors, the faith of the Captain, it said it all. It hurts me 100 times more than it would hurt Rahul or Athiya,’ said Suniel.
The actor further revealed that he’s very superstitious when India plays. He spent the whole World Cup watching it in a room with his wife Mana Shetty and he sat on the floor and saw all the matches – that’s how superstitious he is.
During a chat with ETimes, Suniel had confessed that he gets very anxious when Rahul plays. “I am anxious whenever he is playing. It’s my child playing. I always wish well for him. Looking at his eyes, I have started empathising and appreciating every cricketer. When your child goes through a low, it shakes you up; he is the master of his profession but you are seeing it like a father. And then when he rises like a Phoenix.”
On work front, Suniel was last seen in ‘Hunter’ on OTT. Fans are now waiting for him to begin ‘Hera Pheri 3’ with Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal.
