The Ambani Ladies Honour The Family With Heartfelt Messages In Wedding Outfits

From shlokas, AR initials to grandchildren’s names and an ode to Vantara, the heartwarming details embraced by the women of the Ambani family at Anant Ambani-Radhika Merchant’s wedding.

Anant Ambani, son of Mukesh and Nita Ambani and Radhika Merchant, daughter of Viren and Shaila Merchant got married on July 12 in a beautiful ceremony, against the magnificent backdrop of Varanasi.

The three-days of wedding celebrations hosted at the Jio World Convention Centre, saw the Ambani family host an array of guests from across the globe. Apart from the state of the art wedding celebrations, the one thing that was the talk of the town, were the classic, vintage and timeless couture adorned by Nita Ambani, Isha Ambani, Shloka Ambani and the stunning bride, Radhika Merchant.

With an array of designers including Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla, Manish Malhotra, Anuradha Vakil, Masaba Gupta, Delhi Vintage and Tarun Tahiliani creating masterpieces for every function, each ensemble exuded timeless elegance and royalty.

While every outfit stood out like a charm, there were a couple of opulent designs that made a difference. Some of the ensembles had heartfelt messages embroidered onto the couture pieces making each look special.

From shlokas, AR initials to grandchildren’s names and an ode to Vantara, the heartwarming intricate details embraced by the women of the Ambani family.

Nita Mukesh Ambani

Nita Ambani wore a custom Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla couture honouring family, love and the finest craftsmanship. For Anant and Radhika’s Shubh Aashirwad, Nita adorned a hand embroidered zardozi ghagra featuring decadent hand embroidery inspired by the architecture and temples of Kashi. The highlight of this grand look, was the special jewelled blouse displaying Nita’s children Akash, Isha, Anant and grandchildren Prithvi, Aadiya, Krishna and Veda names intricately embroidered on the back. The delicate net base of the garment also featured hand embroidered jhumkas and elephant motifs.

As an ode to a flourishing bond between the bride Radhika Merchant and groom Anant Ambani and the love of a growing family, Isha Ambani’s Manish Malhotra’s saree was a Garden of love. Isha’s floral embroidered saree embodied the essence of love and celebration for her brother’s wedding day.

For one of the wedding festivities, Isha adorned a traditional with a modern appeal lehenga set from Delhi Vintage Co. Revolving around the theme ‘The Tree of Life, the outfit featured elements such as nandis sitting under a tree, a temple and birds. Embellished with old antique coins and pure zardozi work, the border of the lehenga was adorned with a shloka from the Bhagvad Gita. It read: Karmanya Vadhikaraste, Ma phaleshu kada chana, which means – You have the right to perform your actions, but you are not entitled to the fruits of the actions.

Styled by Anaita Shroff Adajania, the outfit took a total of 4000 man hours to create.

Making her special day even more special, Radhika Merchant adorned ensembles that expressed her love for her groom Anant Ambani. Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla created magic in creations that celebrated Radhika’s big day with elan. For her wedding ceremony, her bridal wear which was inspired by the Panetar – the Gujarati tradition of brides wearing red and white, featured a tissue shoulder dupatta embroidered with her and Anant’s initials.

Another, mesmerising look from the world of Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla, was the creative collaboration with Indian artist and sculptor Jayasri Burman and stylist Rhea Kapoor. The Shubh Aashirwad ceremony lehenga set celebrated Anant’s union with Radhika through deeply meaningful imagery. The human figures represented the happy couple radiated a celestial aura that honoured the divinity in their humanity. The fauna depicted Anant’s fondness for animals, particularly elephants that are considered auspicious and beautiful.

Anant’s sister-in-law, Shloka Ambani’s ensemble which she adorned for the jaimala and baraat, has a special narrative. Designed by Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla, the pastel embroidered lehenga was an ode to love and celebration. An ode to Anant’s passion for nature and animals, the motifs were beautifully incorporated in the lehengas. Shloka was styled by Diya Mehta Jatia.
