Our ongoing exploration of the artwork in Pokémon TCG: Scarlet & Violet continues with a focus on the Full Art Trainer Supporters Katy & Mariam.

The Pokémon TCG enters a new era with Scarlet & Violet. Following the conclusion of Sword & Shield, the Scarlet & Violet era began in March 2023, highlighting the ninth generation of Pokémon games and the new region: Paldea. The Scarlet & Violet base set was officially released in the United States on March 31st, 2023, introducing significant and lasting changes to the hobby. One notable change is the silver borders of the cards, aligned with the Japanese releases. Additionally, each pack now guarantees at least one holo-rare and two reverse holos. The lowercase “ex” mechanic takes center stage in this era, featuring a double holographic pattern with a horizontal shine and starry sparkle. Full Art exs now feature a green, foil outline around the Pokémon. The Secret Rare section of future expansions includes Full Arts, Illustration Rares, Special Illustration Rare exs, Full Art Trainers, Special Illustration Rare Trainers, and Gold Hyper Rares. In this article, we will explore two more Full Art Trainer Supporters from the Scarlet & Violet base set.

Katy and Mariam, both Full Art Trainer Supporters, are highly sought after in this set. As female Trainers, their Full Arts carry significant value. Katy is the Cortondo Gym Leader who specializes in Bug-type Pokémon in Scarlet & Violet. Mariam, whose Special Illustration Rare is the most coveted chase card in the set, serves as the school nurse of Scarlet’s Naranja Academy and Violet’s Uva Academy. Katy’s Full Art is illustrated by Akira Komayama, while Mariam’s is created by Sanosuke Sakuma.
