This enigmatic Nvidia GPU is an astonishing behemoth

The monstrous prototype of a quad-slot Nvidia GPU has resurfaced with new photos, leaving us with more questions than answers. This iteration appears to be more of a cooler than a GPU, as there is no evidence of a PCB.

Speculation runs wild as we ponder whether Nvidia is developing a Titan GPU or if this is the highly anticipated RTX 4090 Ti.

This unnamed GeForce RTX card, captured in two new photos shared by ExperteVallah on Twitter, continues to perplex us with its massive size. While some suggest it might be the RTX Titan Ada, the evidence points to a different conclusion.

Various rumors have surrounded this mysterious GPU, leading to conflicting theories. Some claim it to be the RTX 4090 Ti, while others insist it is the RTX Titan Ada with 48GB of memory over a 384-bit bus. However, whispers in the industry cast doubt on the viability of the Titan in this generation.

Let’s examine the features at hand. This prototype occupies four slots and requires a single 16-pin connector, suggesting a power consumption of up to 600 watts (using the notorious 12VHPWR connector that has caused problems for some users). According to VideoCardz, it corresponds to a PCB design known as PG137, which is not currently utilized by any Nvidia GPU.

Though the display outputs are absent in this stage, the unique design catches our attention. The PCB is intended to mount on the right side, while the model showcases the shroud, backplate, heatsink, and connector wiring (which passes through the heatsink). The display connectors are stacked vertically.

Although Nvidia has remained tight-lipped, the rumor mill continues to speculate about this particular card. An earlier version with a black and gold shroud, consistent with previous Titan cards, fueled speculation further. However, as pointed out by Wccftech, the prototype frame mentions an RTX 4090, which is expected in early models. The possibilities are wide open.

Considering the options, it is more likely that this is an upgraded version of the existing RTX 4090 rather than the RTX Titan Ada. However, Nvidia may still utilize some aspects of this cooler design for the 4090 Ti or an entirely new GPU in the future. In the meantime, the highly anticipated RTX 4060 is just days away.
