UnionBank and Go Rewards join forces to introduce new credit card collaboration

The Gokongwei group has partnered with UnionBank of the Philippines to launch a new payment tool – the UnionBank-Go Rewards Visa credit card. This collaboration aims to expand the reach of the retail loyalty program, Go Rewards. The credit card was officially unveiled during a public showcase in Quezon City, and it is expected to attract hundreds of thousands of users within its first year.

Go Rewards CEO, Cindy Deng, expressed excitement about the collaboration, stating, “Through this powerful collaboration with UnionBank, we have developed a unique all-in-one credit card and loyalty program that enhances and elevates your shopping experience.”

The UnionBank-Go Rewards Visa credit card offers customers the opportunity to earn points for every purchase. Basic cardholders earn one point for every P200 spent, while Platinum cardholders earn one point for every P100 spent. These reward points can be redeemed at over 20 partner brands, including Cebu Pacific, Robinsons Retail stores, and Caltex.

UnionBank aims to attract around 200,000 users in the next 12 months. Vishal Kadian, head of cards and personal loans at UnionBank, expressed optimism about the interest rates becoming more attractive for users as inflation cools down further. Currently, less than 7 million out of the over 100 million Filipinos have credit cards, indicating potential for significant growth in the credit card market.

This partnership between Go Rewards and UnionBank may lead to further collaboration in the future, exploring other areas of cooperation in payment options for customers.
