Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Gujarat Titans (GT) are gearing up for their second match in the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL). It hasn’t been a week since the two teams met in Ahmedabad, where RCB crushed the hosts by nine wickets. This time, GT is heading to Bengaluru’s Chinnaswamy Stadium, and they will be aiming for sweet revenge.

In their last encounter, Sai Sudharsan’s unbeaten 84 off 49 and Shahrukh Khan’s 30-ball 58 powered GT to a competitive total 200. However, Will Jacks’ scintillating hundred off just 41 balls and Virat Kohli’s 44-ball 70 helped RCB cross the finish line in just 16 overs. However, RCB are still at the bottom of the points table, while GT are two places ahead in the eighth position.

One more defeat will shut the door to the playoffs for RCB. They have managed to win only three out of 10 matches in the tournament so far. On the other hand, GT have won four out of 10 matches and will be in dire straits if they lose the upcoming match.

Pitch Report
Bengaluru’s Chinnaswamy Stadium is a batter’s best friend, and we can expect a high-scoring encounter when RCB take on GT. When the venue hosted its previous match, RCB and SRH combined for 549 runs – the highest-ever score in a T20 game. Fast bowlers are likely to get more help from the surface here than spinners.
Player Picks
Virat Kohli RCB | BAT
Virat Kohli has scored the most runs for RCB against GT. In fact, the opening batter has scored 50+ scores in all of RCB’s encounters against GT. He remained unbeaten on 70 runs in their last match.
Will Jacks RCB | BAT
Will Jacks was a beast in their previous encounter. He completed his half-century in 31 balls but took just 10 more balls to convert it into a three-digit score. Jacks scored 28 off Rashid Khan in the 16th over to complete the 201-run chase in style.
Shubman Gill GT | BAT
Shubman Gill has had an inconsistent run this season. Despite failing to live up to expectations, the GT skipper has been their backbone in the batting department. He aims to contribute as much as he can in the upcoming match.
Sai Sudharsan GT | BAT
Sai Sudarshan is currently the third-highest run-scorer in the series with 418 runs. Moreover, in the last encounter against RCB, the southpaw scored an unbeaten 84 off 49 balls.
David Miller GT | BAT
David Miller is in charge of the finishing role and he is doing it well for the franchise. The Proteas big-hitter scored 26 off 19 balls in the last match to get GT to 200 runs on the board.
Dinesh Karthik RCB | WK
Dinesh Karthik has been one of the most reliable batters in the RCB unit this season. Batting in the lower middle order, the keeper-batter gives the team a good finish and sometimes gets the team out of trouble.
Shahrukh Khan GT | BAT
Shahrukh Khan scored his maiden half-century in the IPL in their last match against RCB. His partnership with Sai Sudharsan proved crucial in GT reaching the 200-run mark.
Faf du Plessis RCB | BAT
The RCB skipper managed to find form as the tournament progressed. He gives RCB a quick start in the powerplay and has scored a few fifties in recent times. In the last match against GT, the Proteas cricketer scored 24 runs off 12 balls.
Rajat Patidar RCB | BAT
Rajat Patidar is an excellent player against spin and RCB will rely on him in the middle overs to counter Rashid Khan and Sai Kishore. He is in good touch and aims to excel in front of the home fans.
Avoid Having These Players In Your Fantasy Sports Team
Wriddhiman Saha
GT | WK
Wriddhiman Saha has often been a free wicket for the opposition this season. The keeper-batter is not in the best form and he managed only 5 runs in the last match against RCB.
Glenn Maxwell
RCB | ALL
Glenn Maxwell himself suggested dropping him from the XI following a series of poor performances. However, he returned to the team in the last match against GT but did not get a chance to bat. He is not in good form and is not sure that he will be able to perform well in the upcoming match.
