Controversial forward Matt Lodge appears to be on the verge of leaving the Roosters, as the club has granted his request for an immediate departure.
According to The Sydney Morning Herald, Lodge’s management has submitted three requests to the eastern suburbs club in the past month. The first two were denied, but the third has now been approved.
The club is reportedly displeased with the 28-year-old’s attitude since being informed that he would not be offered a new contract after this season.

Lodge was dropped from the NRL team last week and has played his final game for the Tricolours.
The Roosters chose to re-sign veteran prop Jared Waerea-Hargreaves instead of Lodge, and Lodge was let go due to the arrival of Spencer Leniu next year.
