In the NRL, Dolphins coach Wayne Bennett has expressed his belief that there should be an improved contract system after Ben Hunt requested an early release from his contract that runs until 2025.
Hunt, the Dragons halfback, has expressed his desire to return home to Queensland and has been linked with several clubs, including the Gold Coast Titans, Brisbane Broncos, and Bennett’s Dolphins. The NRL has sent a request for an explanation to these clubs regarding the situation.
When asked if the Dolphins were pursuing Hunt, Bennett responded with a straightforward “no.”

When questioned about players switching clubs mid-season, Bennett provided a more extensive response.
He stated, “That’s another issue. We pay a lot of people to run the game, so I won’t comment on it,” following his team’s 48-20 loss to the Eels.
